How to Choose a Wedding Date

Wendy,How do I go about choosing a date for the wedding? What are the off-season months? Tiffany
Tiffany,
There are several factors that can determine our date for you:
SIGNIFICANCE = You want to be married on the same date as your grandparents or parents. Or you want to tie the knot on the
anniversary of your first date or the date he popped the question.
BUDGET = You have X amount of dollars that you are able to save each month. Ask around to get an idea of what the average wedding in your area costs. Take that figure and divide
it by your monthly savings.
SEASONS = This may seem like a crazy reason but it is the truth. Particularly for professional people that have certain times of the year that are busier than others. Such as summer months
are great for teachers while March and April are horrendous for accountants.
Things to keep in mind when selecting a date:
You will find most vendors will give discounts for wedding held on Friday and Sunday’s.
Holiday weekends work wonderful for those that have many guests traveling from out of town. By having the celebration on Sunday you give them Saturday to travel to and Monday
to travel from.
A wedding is a MAJOR event that deserves the time it takes to properly prepare. One year is the average time frame professionals recommend.
Happiness always,
Wendy
